China Camp

Day 2

After a good nights sleep on a futon and some pizza for breakfast, the labor day festivities began with the seasoning of four large racks of ribs. While those were in the oven Derek, Brandon, Brian, and I walked a couple blocks down from Derek's house to Delores Park. We sunbathed amongst a huge group of young San Franciscanites an enjoyed plenty of good people watching. After that we ate way too much and then drove Derek to the airport to catch a flight to Kansas City for work. That afternoon we headed over to Sausalito for a big cup of coffee and a short walk. We ate dinner in downtown San Rafael at an amazing Puerto Rican restaurant. My dish had rice, seasoned beans, avocado, and garlic plantains. mmmmm... I'm thinking I need a Puerto Rican recipe book. We decided to camp at China Camp that night and ended up with an incredible camp site overlooking the bay. Brandon helped gather firewood and we enjoyed a nice campfire and great conversation.
